There are six branches to the year-long course. They include: Shadow Work, Divination, Nature and Devotional Practice, Spell Craft, Tools and Service/Magical Activism. This work will include self-paced assignments, trances, stories, creative assignments, exercises, ritual, and lots of opportunities to personalize the material. We are talking about a wonderful magical intensive, taking you into your own depth and deepening, into your life each day and transforming your acts in the world, send your soaring into the stars and beyond!
No. We ask that you have completed two of the four Reclaiming core classes, one of which should be The Elements of Magic. (The other three courses are The Pentacle of Iron, The Pentacle of Pearl, and The Rites of Passage.) if you think you have equivalent experience please discuss with us.
The course is self-guided. Modules will be assigned sequentially and you will have a set amount of time to complete the module. The average duration to complete a module will be 1-2 weeks depending on the size of the module. It is up to you when during that amount of time that you do the work. You might be a night-owl in Brisbane, Queensland working at the same time as someone else in Victoria, Canada in the morning. Someone else in Santa Cruz, California might have completed the work a day before, while someone in Los Angeles or London might do the same assignment 2 days after you.
In addition to the course work, there will be homework, weekly check-ins, as well as guidance and support for establishing a daily practice. Homework could take a half an hour each day, or 3.5 hours each week. Feel free to go into more depth as you wish.
The Axis Mundi course is the first class to be offered on our new Reclaiming online learning platform called The Reclaiming Loom. The Reclaiming Loom uses the same online learning technology used at many universities. It supports a multitude of course content formats including readings, videos, audio, slide shows as well as message boards used to communicate with other participants. The Reclaiming Loom and the Reclaiming Axis Mundi website are both designed by Bart Dority, a wizard artist and website designer in the Reclaiming community. It is a user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate, and works on any computer browser.
For Reclaiming classes and events, we find that most people pay between the bottom of the sliding scale and the 25th quartile of the range. This actually makes it challenging to offer financial assistance to those that would like to participate but have trouble paying at the bottom of the scale. We are firmly committed to making this program financially accessible and we ask that you take this into account when you decide where you fit within the sliding scale. Please reference our cost model in the FAQ for further information.
